2014 marks our 35th year in business. Bikesport is conveniently located near the center of Houston (1.5 miles East of the Galleria, a stone's throw from Greenway Plaza and on the fringes of River Oaks) Bikesport is well known for its friendly, knowledgeable staff and for having a really good selection of often-needed, hard to find small parts in stock. We have convenient hours and a large selection of clothing and accessories. We carry primarily road, mountain and specialty bikes and offer renowned service on all bike-store-quality bikes. Among the 6 of us on staff, we have over 110 years of experience in the bike industry. If you're looking for something other than the usual cookie cutter bike shop, stop by and give us a try.
And to those of you who have been supporting us for these 35 years, a huge THANK YOU!

Salsa! Adventure by Bike!
At Salsa, we believe a sense of adventure makes life better. The bicycle can be so much more than just a bike; it's a path to new places, new people, and amazing experiences.
We provide the bikes. You determine where they go, and where you go with them. Satisfy curiosity. Explore boundaries. Discover something great.
There are always a few bikes that need to find a new home. Here's a quick link to the bikes we have on sale. Please note that in-stock bikes show sale prices, out of stock bikes don't. Check back often to see what pops up. You never know, you just may find a bike you've been lusting after.

You can now follow Bikesport on Twitter and FaceBook. We now have a unique FaceBook URL so you can see what's going on even without a FaceBook account. Check it out! We promise not to have "up to the minute" updates every 5 minutes but we will post new product highlights, ride information, funny pictures, not so funny pictures and other relevant items from time to time. These sites also allow our friends and customers to interact with each other and plan rides and events. Please consider following us in these formats too.
Some Random Ramblings...
I was thinking the other day and realized that June of 2011 marks the 32nd anniversary of our beginnings. That's a long time. Longer than a lot of bike store staff has even been born! I think Bikesport has come a long way in that time. We've seen other stores come and go. We built our own building 19 years ago. We've seen bike manufacturers and accessory makers show up and then disappear. We've seen bike lines expand from 8 models to over 200! We've seen gear clusters go from 5 to 11 cogs with only 4mm of space added! We've watched the evolution of bikes from steel frames to an almost complete change to carbon fiber. We changed our name just over 23 years ago. We've seen a lot of changes and it's all been pretty interesting. And it all started here back in 1979...

Today's Cycling Tip
A Great Time To Take Up Off-Road Riding - If you primarily ride on the road but have been itching to hit the trails, consider winter. Winter road rides can be tough because you roll fast enough to create significant wind chill. Head out looking like the "dough boy," and your fingers and toes can still freeze. Maybe worse, you've got to ride with extreme caution because ice-slick roads are treacherous. So instead, why not get on an off-road rig and hit the trails for an exhilarating change of pace? The mountain bike's upright riding position, wide tires and easier gears, along with steep hills, rough trails and soft riding surfaces, slow you down, resulting in less wind chill and increased body warmth. In addition, hills and trees provide shelter from the wind and elements. Mountain biking also improves bike-handling skills, builds strength, and is a heck of a lot of fun. We'll be more than happy to show you some excellent off-road bikes and point you to the best local trails.
